Linda Ann Smith, MD, F.A.C.S

Dr. Linda Smith wanted to be a physician since childhood. She began studying a pre-medical curriculum in high school and qualified for a six-year medical program at Northwestern University.

Following graduation from Northwestern, Dr. Smith attended a 5 year General Surgery Residency and then completed a one-year Burn and Trauma Fellowship at the University of New Mexico. She entered private practice in New Mexico in 1984 and began her career as a General Surgeon.

From the beginning of her practice, Dr. Smith has concentrated on breast care and in 1994, she became sub-specialized in the the treatment of breast disorders. For the past 14 years, her practice, has been 100% dedicated to the treatment of breast disease.

Since Dr. Smith began her medical practice, enormous advances have occurred in the treatment of breast disorders. Dr. Smith has been at the forefront of these advances, and with intense continuing education, has brought these developments to the women of New Mexico.

Dr. Smith now performs all of the standard advanced procedures including office ultrasound, office based cryo-ablation of tumors, sentinel node biopsy, skin-sparing mastectomy, onco-plastic surgery, partial breast radiation and genetic testing for the breast cancer genes.

Dr. Smith is a Board Certified General Surgeon. She is a certified instructor in Mammosite (partial breast radiation) and is also certified in Breast Ultrasound.
